Abandoned, yet another audiobook, and writer's block

Dear Diary,
I don’t do well with being alone. My big brother is overseas, my bestie is hermiting, Anne is spending time with her family, Natalie is so distraught over Poundcake’s (her miniature schnauzer) passing that I gave her the rest of the week off, and Rebecca (my lick toy) is swamped with work. I couldn’t even really get to sleep last night because I hate being in the house all by myself.
I did get a lot of author things done, however, so there is that. :-D
For example: I completely finished the upcoming anthology Good Girls Gone Bad (which is set to be released in November)! I also received word that the audiobook version of The Champion’s Gift (A Qedesha Story) is complete and available for sale (even though the cover is oddly different - I’ve already requested a change), which means the eBook, paperback, and audiobook are all available today, it’s official launch day! Beautiful. So beautiful.
Want to know what is not beautiful?
This motherfucking short story I’m working on! It’s the werewolf story I’ve been talking about these past few days, and it’s driving me absolutely crazy. See, I know all the basics, but I can’t find a twist… that special little something that makes a story unique and exciting. I’ve been pacing, brainstorming, and basically just bashing my head against the keyboard trying to come up with something inimitable and entertaining, something usually not hard for me, but for some reason with this story… I BLAME YOU RONNIE! :-D Maybe I need to step away from it for a bit and expose myself to various forms of entertainment until something, I dunno, clicks. Once it does I can whip out the entire story in record time because everything else is developed, so…
Anyway.
I’m going to go hop into a steaming hot bath and try and let my imagination run wild. It does that a lot. Especially in the tub.
See you there. ;-)

I’m a writing beast! Except when I’m not…

Dear Diary, I learned a long time ago that the thing you love most can kill you if you let it. Back when I first started writing, I didn’t t...
